Uncharted Love Photography » Blog

“The heart charts its own path; for it cannot be predicted, only embraced.”

Hi, I’m Alexa… wife, mother, quilter, traveler, painter, coffee-lover, photographer. I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri, went to college in Kansas (Go Wildcats!), moved to L.A., then to Queensland, Australia for my husband’s job, and now we are putting down roots in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska. Whew! It’s been a crazy ride, but a wonderful one at that (and oh, the photo ops!).

Ever since I was young, it was odd to see me without a camera in my hands (I think I may have been the only 12-year-old that carried around a big, bulky camera to every sleepover, sports game, and dance). My walls were covered with snapshots of family, friends, pets, and nature.

I have a passion for capturing the moment, cherishing the day-to-day. I love that my job allows me to not only create beautiful art for families to display, but also to document this very special time in their lives. As a wife and mother, I know all too well how quickly you can get sucked in to the hustle and bustle of everyday life; you find yourself going through the motions instead of absorbing the beauty and laughter that our children and family bring to our lives. Let me help freeze these very special moments for you… this kiss, that smile, those dimples.

The future is unpredictable, but when we allow ourselves to delve into uncharted territories, we open our hearts to the most rewarding love. I hope I get the opportunity to capture these moments for you! Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Wishing you all the best,
